Rockport
ROCKPORT, MA :: On our last day in New England, Kristie and I headed north from Boston to check out Rockport and Salem. Rockport is a small fishing village and artist community on the coast of Cape Ann. A pedestrian-only zone contains many quaint shops, cafes and galleries.
In nearby Gloucester, we stopped at a beach and touched the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. It’s just as wet as the Pacific, but I think I much prefer the beaches along our coasts in Washington, Oregon and California. Why?
Sunsets.

Awesome pictures, I love the New England area it has it’s own unique charm. Keep up the good work.
Great pictures as usual, John. Did you use Guassian blur on that first one? Looks a bit chilly in that last picture. Fun stuff.
Thank you, Michael and Jayson.
Yes, that’s a guassian blur. I masked out the shack and boat in the foreground and blurred everything else in the background.
It kinda of makes the shack look like a model, like in those tilt and shift focus photos I’m sure you’ve seen.
Very cool site if you haven’t seen it:http://blog.so-net.ne.jp/photolog/archive/c22183

Ah, there is one place though where you see the sunset on the Atlantic and sunrise on the Pacific – panama city.
