MORRISON, CO :: Not another dinosaur museum! Yes, another dinosaur museum.
The Morrison Natural History Museum may be small, but it packs in an impressive collection, a fantastic guided tour, and some real hands-on paleontology. Morrison is actually where some of the first major dinosaur discoveries of were made, and the famous Morrison Formation, one of North America’s richest sources of Jurassic fossils, takes its name from this little Colorado town.
We learned all kinds of fascinating things, got up close with fossils and research happening right there at the museum, and even got to dig away at our own fossil using the same tools paleontologists use in the field. Needless to say, Charlie was once again in his element. Another dinosaur stop well worth making!
