GOLDEN, CO :: Another fun stop in Golden! We grabbed lunch at the historic Old Capitol Grill & Smokehouse, in a building where Colorado’s territorial legislature once met, then wandered through the shops downtown, including the Golden Curiosity Shop.
We also visited the Colorado School of Mines’ surprisingly impressive Museum of Earth Science. Thousands of unreal minerals, gems, fossils and meteorites are on display, including glowing minerals and even a moon rock collected during Apollo 17. Literally one of Golden’s hidden gems!
