MOUNT PILCHUCK, WA :: We took advantage of the extended summer daylight, and hiked up Mt. Pilchuck after work. The trail is six miles roundtrip and climbs 2300' to an old fire lookout. It was quite the challenge, due to the rocky terrain and constant clouds of mosquitoes. Unfortunately, our three hour estimate turned into five, and flashlights were required on the hike back out. But the views were incredible, particularly at sunset, making the accomplishment well worthwhile!
