Hannah Bloking A week might be a bit much for Leavenworth, unless you’re just looking for a nice relaxing getaway in the mountains. If you’re with the babies, there are many nice walks and trails in and around town. Cute toy shops and hat shops too. I think there’s much more for them to appreciate as they grow older. If it’s just you and hubby, well, then there’s a ton. Check out the Post Hotel for a posh stay in a Bavarian-styled castle or find an airbnb/cabin along the river. Many great hikes in the area, might be too late to go rafting or floating, but there are a couple fall festivals in September, including of course Oktoberfest at the tail end. All of the brats, sauerkraut, pretzels, schnitzel, and beer you could ever want!
Winter is a great time to go too, with all of the holiday lights and hopefully some snow. Think sleighrides, sledding and mulled wine!
