COBA RUINAS ARQUEOLÓGICAS, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO :: On the 8th and final full day of our vacation, we drove to Coba. We love exploring Mayan ruins, and were glad to add Coba to the list of sites that we've seen throughout Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. The Mayans had mastered mathematics, astronomy, and agriculture (along with chocolate!). It's fascinating to try to imagine their complex society amidst the ancient temples, palaces and ball courts. Unfortunately, Kristie injured her foot, so we appreciated the bike taxi service that transported us several miles through the jungle and the enormous former city.
