Valladolid
VALLADOLID, YUCATAN, MEXICO :: On our 6th day in Mexico, we drove two hours from Tulum to Valladolid, a designated "Pueblo Magico" in the heart of the Yucatan. Valladolid is one of the earliest Spanish colonial cities, established nearly 500 years ago. It is also considered the spark of the Mexican Revolution, where a bloody insurrection in 1910 ignited a movement throughout the country to overthrow the dictatorship. We enjoyed exploring the city's vibrant streets, beautiful main square, museums, and countless shops. Lunch was at a 400 year old hotel where we found ourselves to be the only English speakers in the restaurant. We wish we had more time for exploring and to see the nightly show of city's history projected across the old convent… Bueno Valladolid, hasta la próxima!
