MONROE, WA :: An exciting evening at the annual Swifts Night Out at Wagner Elementary School in Monroe, organized by the Pilchuck Audubon Society!
We saw some really cool murmurations as the swifts circled overhead. A pair of Merlins also showed up and started attacking the flock. Unfortunately, a couple of swifts were killed, and Charlie managed to capture one of the Merlins in slow motion.
The crowd was completely into the excitement and cheered as the swifts made their way into the chimney. Charlie also volunteered at the information table for a couple of hours, but was released for the big finale as the swifts settled in to roost for the night.
