Swifts Night Out
WAGNER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, MONROE, WA :: Last night we joined a big crowd of fellow “Swifties” at the old Wagner Elementary in Monroe for Swifts Night Out! Hundreds of migrating Vaux’s Swifts swirled overhead before funneling into the school’s old brick chimney to roost. A hungry Merlin dove in to disrupt the ritual, but the swifts regrouped and poured inside in a mesmerizing spiral. It was exciting to hear the crowd cheer and jeer as nature’s spectacle played out! At one point, Kristie got a little too excited, and we had to make sure she was okay. 😂
Charlie also kept an eye on the live chimney webcam, where we could see the cute little swifts anchoring themselves to the brick walls, making sure they were safe for the night!
