SCHYNIGE PLATTE, WILDERSWIL, SWITZERLAND :: Schynige Platte is one of the best trails in the Bernese Oberland! Unfortunately, it requires riding the slowest cog train in the world to get to it, but it was well worth it! We did the four mile loop along the 8000’ high ridge overlooking Interlaken, Lake Thun, and Lake Brienz, which was a brilliant turquoise color. The trail also featured a flower garden, shops, playgrounds, restaurants, cows, and traveling alpenhorn performers who played from different spots around the valley while we progressed along the trail. Truly a quintessential Swiss mountain experience!
