SOUTHWEST VACATION DAY 8 :: LAS VEGAS, NV :: Tucked beside The Mirage is Siegfried & Roy’s small zoo and aquarium, where one can get a close-up view of dolphins, an asian elephant, white lions, snow white tigers, striped white tigers, bengal tigers, leopards, and a jaguar. The cats sleep 12-16 hours a day, so it was no surprise we found most of them napping in their lush and comfy pens. Dolphins never seem to sleep. Like puppy dogs, they were always eager to interact with their trainers. They don’t put on any shows with the dolphins, but they do teach them to perform several tricks in order to exercise and examine them. The Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat was a nice break from the Strip.
