SANTA MONICA, CA :: Before heading back to the airport, we rented bikes at Santa Monica Pier and rode them via the nice bike path to Venice Beach Pier. We stopped to check out the sights along the way, including a steaming dragon, Muscle Beach (under renovation), the skate park, and the beach itself. It was only 7 miles there and back, but the bike path goes on for many more miles in each direction. When we got back, we strolled the Santa Monica Pier and rode the West Coaster roller coaster before finally saying goodbye to California.
