Perseids
60 ACRES SOCCER COMPLEX, REDMOND, WA :: Along with a few dozen other groups, we were at the local soccer fields between midnight and 1:00 AM to watch the Perseids. We saw about 20 decent meteors, but very few of these were radiating out of Perseus constellation. Just your average frequency of meteors across the sky on any given night. The Perseids were a dud again, and I wonder if the media is overhyping this each year. The streaks in this long exposure photo are mostly satellites, I believe, except for the two in the lower right. Oh well. It’s always worthwhile to get out on a warm summer night and to be humbled by the universe.
