KAILUA, HONOLULU COUNTY, HI :: Just sharing a few more photos of our home away from home in Kailua. We loved this vacation rental and the laid back vibe of this beachside town. We walked to the beach every day, enjoyed the lush garden with chirping geckos, and swung lazily on the tire swings in the backyard. We were grateful to find an option other than a mega resort or high-rise condo on Oahu.
Rentals are my 100% go to. Can’t remember the last time we had a hotel for a vacation!

On our last trips to Europe (heck, even domestically in Napa, San Diego, Bend, Boston, Maine, Yellowstone), we’ve had some really amazing airbnbs / vrbos. They sometimes can make the trip with the right location, amenities, etc. It’s not for everyone, but I love the privacy, and the untouristy vibe.
Definitely appreciate the privacy and blending in as well.
