PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Sr. Manager CTES LCM (life cycle management) is responsible for the implementation of cell therapy manufacturing technologies, and process changes related to the life-cycle management of a commercial CAR T Therapy. This includes establishing the requirements for the manufacturing process, coordinating technical transfers to manufacturing and between sites, developing process qualification, process control and comparability strategies, authoring technical sections of major regulatory documents and contributing to the overall CMC and commercial strategy.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The CTES LCM Tech Transfer Lead is accountable for:

  • Lead cross-functional teams for Technical Transfer, providing technical direction for Process Design and Validation.
  • Driving the execution of validation, qualification, and comparability strategies
  • Support the deployment of new technology, processes, and products and the associated change management for technical transfer readiness in cell therapy drug product manufacturing
  • Providing technical support to development and execution of PPQ and comparability assessments
  • Ensures processes are designed and validated per applicable cGMPs, site procedures, and that processes are defined consistent with regulatory filings
  • Designs, prepares, and reviews technology transfer protocols, methods/processes, process control strategies as appropriate.
  • Responsible to create, maintain and harmonize key tech transfer business processes. Partners with global teams to identify and implement best practices in industry related to technology transfers.
  • Establishing and track project performance, provide progress reports to stakeholders and Global teams
  • Leads, motivates, mentors, and develops project team members to meet and exceed project/team goals and objectives
  • Supporting the broader site (Jump), Cell Therapy Development & Operations (CTDO), Global Production & Supply (GPS) and BMS strategic initiatives, as needed
  • Exemplifies BMS values and is relied upon to be an outward facing ambassador of the company.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Education: BS in Life Sciences or Engineering

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Life Sciences with more than 10+ years of experience in Biotech industry.
  • 6+ years working on or leading project teams to deliver tech transfer and life cycle management projects and initiatives
  • Familiarity with cell therapy processes and cGMPs is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines as an individual contributor, and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Experience working in a self-driven, performance/results oriented, fast paced matrix environment.
  • Ability to assess risk and develop contingency plans for process risks
  • Able to manage time and elevate relevant issues to project lead and line management.
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work with teams in different functions and organizations

Build effective cross-functional relationships both internally within the Manufacturing Leadership Team and externally across Jump and the CT (Cell Therapy) network

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $114,000 - $144,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
