LA CONNER, WA :: This morning we took a short trip to Skagit Valley to see the tulips. As we wandered from one field of color to the next, the fast moving clouds occasionally allowed the sunshine to break through. Scores of photographers lined the roads with their tripods, waiting patiently for the perfect lighting condition. Some areas were a zoo with crowds of people bending over and under one another to get a photo of their baby, kid, partner or friend in the tulips. We even saw a bride and groom walk into the muddy fields with an entourage of photographers following them. There are some very nice views, and the vivid colors are a treat for the eyes. Try to go early to avoid the crowds.
