Reykjavík, Iceland
REYKJAVÍK, ICELAND :: We kicked off my sabbatical in Reykjavik! The grandparents didn’t survive the jet lag, but Kristie and the kiddos pressed on after our long red eye, knowing how rare sunshine and warmth is in Iceland. Here are some moments from our first few hours touring this fun and vibrant city!
We loved the human-scale of the capital city, with low buildings, narrow streets and wide sidewalks. Bright colors, striking murals, interesting architecture, and public art are sprinkled about generously. We stayed at the posh Parliament Hotel, right next to the actual Icelandic Parliament. Iceland also happens to be the birthplace of this legislative system, called the Althing by the Vikings in 930 AD.

Enjoy ya’ll! It’s on my list Will be living vicariously through your posts…
