Night of the Bunnies II
WOODLAND PARK, SEATTLE, WA :: The bunnies in Woodland Park caught us by surprise last year. But today, we were prepared. Kristie brought a bag of baby carrots to feed them. Some of the older bunnies came right up to our hands and others crowded around us when they heard the plastic bag rustle. It seemed others couldn’t find a carrot tossed just inches away from them. Kristie said it was because they had very poor eyesight. I was suspecting it was because they simply didn’t know what a baby carrot was. A quick search on Google reveals most species are very far-sighted. They could see us waving a carrot, but if we tossed it near them, they hopped around in circles sniffing the air until they bumped into it. It was pretty funny to watch.
