Mainz, Germany
MAINZ, GERMANY :: We checked out market day in Mainz. It was about an hour away from our castle-hotel, and the largest city we visited during our three weeks in Europe. With a population just over 200,000 people, it’s twice as populous as Reykjavik, the second largest city we toured! We had fun perusing the market stalls, checking out the cathedral, enjoying the fountains with some ice cream, and of course, learning more about Mainz’s main claim to fame: Johannes Gutenberg! (Next post!)

What an amazing trip you are having! I’m really enjoying following along.
