Milky Way
LAKE WENATCHEE STATE PARK, LEAVENWORTH, WA :: Most people visit Lake Wenatchee during the day to enjoy watersports or fishing. We go there in the middle of the night during a new moon to watch the Perseid meteor shower and The Milky Way. Many wishes were made on shooting stars that night, including one on a dazzling bright white fireball that lit up and cast shadows across the beach for a split second! The show was well worth the ticket we found on our car for parking and trespassing through the campground without a permit (the day use area was gated off). Glad to support the State Parks with my fine, but they should make it easier for the public to enjoy nature at night.

Lucky you! Beautiful shots!
