ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires excellent people skills and the ability to work with all ages of children.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Prior child care experience preferred, not required.
• Part-time position requires flexibility in hours depending on season/needs of participants.
• Must be able to read and understand written instructions and printed materials in English.
• Must be able to work at any YMCA child care site, as required by supervisor and provide own transportation.
• Requires YMCA provided training in Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention prior three months of hire date.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be physically fit in order to participate in all aspects of the position. Ability to lift twentyfive (25) pounds without strain and mentally alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents,

• Make sound judgments even when distracted by noise and activity. Ability to handle irate, complaining or demanding individuals without internalizing or personalizing comments made.
• Physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and first aid effectively.

JOB SEGMENTS

• Greet and communicate with all children and parents in a friendly, professional manner.
• Accurately record required information on babysitting sign-in roster.
• Make sure the parent location is written down on the form.
• Supervise children in all activities/areas.
• Clean and maintain a clean and safe Y-Play room/area.
• Handle accidents and emergencies in a comfortable and confident manner in accordance with policies and procedures, to include proper documentation. Report any unsafe situations, incidents/accidents to Membership/Executive Director immediately.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position. Adherence to guidelines is required.
• Must supervise children at all times in accordance to Association policies, i.e. Code of Conduct, etc.'
