Estabrook’s Seasonal Yard Support

Estabrook’s is a family owned and operated garden center located in Yarmouth Maine. Estabrook's was started by Myron Estabrook Sr. as a poultry farm in its present location at 337 East Main Street. In the mid 1940’s, Myron’s son Melvin Estabrook started a well-known local produce farm with a retail location just around the corner and for many years it was a major seller at the original public market in Portland. During the 1970’s the produce farm migrated over to the poultry farm and began to evolve into the full-service garden center it is today. With close to 30 growing greenhouses, Estabrook’s not only offers high quality products, but is a local destination for design consultations, florist services and bulk goods for your garden projects.

At Estabrook’s you will be a part of a two-generation team that plays a continued role in the local Yarmouth Community. We are a retail business open seven days a week. Hourly positions vary from Seasonal to Year-Round and can be part-time or full-time covering weekdays and weekends. Our retail space is located inside and outside, and our offices are on first and second floors of older buildings with only stairs. Earned Paid Leave is available based on state requirements and additional benefits are available for Year-Round staff working 30 or more hours per week.

We are looking for a Full-Time Seasonal Yard Support. We need to hire a quality team Yard Support for the 2023 season for our Kennebunk location! The position requires a polite, friendly manner and positive attitude.

Position Requirements:

• Assist customers with plant and product locations and other basic information.
• Ability to sell additional related/supplementary product to customers to ensure maximum plant growth.
• Load bagged goods and other purchases for customers while ensuring the accuracy of product loaded.
• Locate, move, stock, clean, patch, organize and rotate plant material and bagged material to maximize sales by displaying the best quality product available.
• Retrieve carts and return to appropriate locations to keep them readily available for customer use.
• Provide carts to customers as needed.
• Monitor bagged good levels and communicate with the warehouse for restocking.
• Clean and maintain the yard area and follow safe work practices to help ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to stand for extended amounts of time.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary to meet peak season needs.
• Weekday and weekend availability is a must during peak season.
• Interest in plants and/or gardening is a plus but not required.
