To operate a semi-truck and trailer combination as well as operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move raw and/or finished products.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a semi-truck and end dump, hopper bottom, tanker, or box trailer efficiently to move product to various locations within Simmons facility properties and outside of Simmons properties.
• Over the road, the day runs to various facilities.
• Wash semi-truck and trailer in wash bay as needed.
• Load and Unload trailers using forklift to move product to the production floor.
• Complete all necessary paperwork.

Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Physical Activities: Ability to work in a wet, noisy, humid, hot, and cold environment that has an unpleasant odor. Ability to hook and unhook trailers, including climbing on trucks to hook up hoses or lines, hand cranking trailer dollies, tarp and un tarp trailers with a hank crank up to 30 trailers a shift if necessary.

Travel: Some travel between Simmons facilities may be necessary.

Technical Experience: Must be able to obtain and maintain company issued forklift licenses. Must be able to follow established safety regulations.

Industry Experience: Some tractor/trailer operation experience required.

Minimum Education: Ability to Read, Write and do basic Math

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
