The EXL Consulting & Advisory Practice is seeking to hire a Market and Data Research Associate to join our team.
Market and Data Research Associate role is a fully remote temp role with a project duration expectancy of 6+ months.

The MDR team is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and accounting support in the management of the Firm’s market data and research spend.

The team is responsible for maintaining all inventory of market data services in the Firm’s inventory database and allocating and recording all associated expenses. MDR team reconciles and processes all market data invoices and works with vendors to resolve discrepancies.

The team is also responsible for managing procurement of certain market data services. Finally, the group manages both internal and external reporting, budgeting, and project initiatives.

What you’ll do
  • As an associate on our team, you will have the opportunity to learn our business and apply your analytical thinking to interesting challenges with room for growth.
  • Specifically, you will:
  • Administer invoices for market data and research invoices as needed
  • Maintain inventory in the Firm’s market data inventory management database (FITS)
  • Provide close working support to Market Data’s Business Analysts in partnership with Compliance, Legal and other various internal departments
  • Support monthly close processes
  • Oversee finance and administration relationship with vendors, including exchange reporting
  • Oversee procurement of certain market data services
  • Seek ways to automate and streamline market data processes
  • Maintain oversight of soft dollar and sales/use tax policy and administration
  • Assist with budgets, ad hoc reporting, and special projects
What’s required:
  • Strong analytical ability, familiarity with data analysis and database tools important
  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • up to 3 years’ experience in an accounting, finance, IT or market data environment
  • Facility with Excel
  • Market data, Accounting, Accounts Payable, or Account Management experience
  • Detail oriented, strong team player, genuine interest in market data in an asset management environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards
