Job description
As an Accounts Receivable Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts receivable process within a consumer packaged goods company. Your primary objective will be to ensure the timely collection of payments from our customers while maintaining strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service. In addition, you will leverage your expertise in trade promotion to optimize revenue recognition and drive profitability. This is a temporary/contract to hire opportunity.Responsibilities:
Help manage the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment processing, cash applications, and collections.
Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging to identify delinquent accounts, proactively follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve any billing disputes or issues.
Collaborate with the finance team to forecast and manage cash flow projections based on accounts receivable aging and collection trends.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as the primary point of contact for any accounts receivable-related inquiries or concerns.
Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers, establish credit limits, and recommend appropriate credit terms to mitigate credit risk.
Utilize your expertise in trade promotion to optimize revenue recognition, evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities, and provide insights to cross-functional teams.
Continuously assess and enhance accounts receivable processes, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
Prepare regular reports and analysis on accounts receivable performance, aging, collections, and cash flow for management review.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audit activities related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably within the consumer packaged goods industry.
Strong understanding of trade promotion concepts and experience in optimizing revenue recognition through trade promotion activities.
Proven track record of successfully managing collections, reducing delinquency rates, and improving cash flow.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and credit risk assessment.
Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends, patterns, and potential issues.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
