We are looking for a
Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team! The Tax Accountant will be responsible for filing the monthly sales and use tax returns for our portfolio of stores, serving as the main point of contact for sales tax issues within each store.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Timely filing of all state and local sales tax returns for the organization (approximately 120 filings per month)
- Timely and accurate tax payments made with each tax return (approximately $85 million paid each year)
- Assist the tax manager with sales tax audits; gather appropriate data for audit
- Reconcile sales tax reports with monthly sales audit data and the general ledger
- Keep current with all state and local sales tax rates as they apply to our organization
- Apply for and renew business licenses for various stores
- Additional responsibilities as required
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 1-2 years of experience in multi-state sales tax filing experience with a corporation preferred
- Knowledge of sales tax software programs preferred; OneSource a plus
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize works
- Excellent organizational skills
