Title: Senior Network Engineer

Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire

Location: Tampa, FL

Schedule: M-F, 4 days onsite, 1 remote

Pay: 55-60/hr

Desired Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing and supporting large-scale multi-protocol networks
• Expertise with Cisco routing & switching (CCNP level skillset -- the certification is a plus!)
• Strong understanding of layer 2 networks
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally within the Tampa Bay area

A telecommunications employer in Tampa, FL is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join their team! This is a mid-sized national telecommunications company that services networks for school districts. They are looking for a Network Engineer to work with a team of 6 network and wireless engineers to support, maintain, and improve the network for 170+ locations. They are looking for a Cisco routing expert (ideally CCNP-level) that can guide the team through projects and tasks around managing thousands of switches, routers, and access points. The Network Engineer will design, build, implement and support existing infrastructure and will also spearhead several large projects. Over the summer, this company will be taking over all of the circuits from another large vendor which will require the team to change routing and connect and test new circuits. This position will require frequent interaction with the end customer so the client is looking for an engineer who is comfortable with both remote and face to face support. The Network Engineer will travel between their home office, the primary client location and over 170 local sites in the Tampa area. A company vehicle will be available if needed.
