Senior Manager – Metal Process Excellence & Data Analytics

The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Senior Manager, Metal Process Excellence & Data Analytics. The person in this role will report to the VP Metal Procurement & Recycling. The Senior Manager is responsible for detailing current process flows for day-to-day activities and crafting and implementing a daring improvement action plan. The ideal candidate is responsible for handling data collection and analysis activities to provide better purchasing insights (e.g., geographical, seasonal, by supplier) to day-to-day team and ensure accurate tracking of critical metrics (e.g., BOM planning/usage, open PO book, etc) and associated financials. The ideal candidate will partner with the global process excellence team to support global initiatives.

  • Lead process excellence team to support day to day activities while supporting any global initiatives.
  • Lead Data Analytics team to provide valuable insights for better planning, purchasing and use of metal.
  • Help VP Metal Procurement build an attractive culture to attract and retain employees by delivering the people critical metrics regarding engagement and inclusiveness
  • Provide structured view of available data and insightful analysis to better enable day to day team
  • Provide view on data gaps or inaccuracies and process to fill gaps
  • Ensure current key processes are detailed (with emphasis on cross-functional processes with unclear hand-offs).
  • Provide action plan to improve processes through simplification/automation/RPA activities
  • Ask for and provide feedback to Metal Operations team to help prioritize activities to ensure highest struggles are addressed in day-to-day operations.
  • Partner with other internal functions supply chain, finance, operations, sustainability, global metal, value streams to ensure smooth planning, purchase, flow, and use of scrap.
  • Provide support in sustainability reporting
  • Collaborate with global metal process excellence to support global initiatives
  • Support day to day team in creating easy view to assess procurement activities
  • Provide insight into patterns in the metal market to gain competitive advantage when going to market
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Significant experience in handling and driving change; must be well networked and cultivate a participative work environment to rapidly accumulate needed information and implement change.
  • Knowledge of market and pricing dynamics, manufacturing processes, planning and scheduling, supply chain, recycling, quality systems, metallurgy and basic reliability methodology.
  • Proven leadership skills, critical thinking and team building experience.
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Proven project management knowledge and skills.
