Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • You will Identify and individualize patient goals. Compare expected and achieved outcomes of nursing
  • care utilizing the POC consistent with the patient’s status, and then formulate, individualize and modify the patient plan of care.
  • You will complete assessments of patient’s/significant others’ responses to illness, the use of coping mechanisms and emotional needs, and incorporate family/ significant other into plan of care and reflect the plan of care is individualized for each patient.
  • You will identify and complete assessments of the patient/ significant other educational needs. Develop and help implement teaching plan. Provide education consistent with patient's level of understanding using existing resources for patient/ significant others.
  • You will administer medications and treatments safely. Recognize and report errors and unusual occurrences. Analyze and identify precipitating factors.
  • You will recognize and respond to crises. Notify appropriate individuals of actual or impending crisis.
  • You will report and document patient's symptoms, responses, and progress. Interventions are appropriate to patient’s symptoms, responses, and progress.

Position includes:

  • Duration: Oct-March 31, 2023
  • Full-time positions with benefits, except PTO
  • Newly increased pay rate

Conditions:

  • Candidate must be able to work full time (36 Hrs/week) for the duration of the Winter Program
  • Candidate must be willing to float to any unit and specialty (as applicable by experience), or hospital based on need
  • Candidate will be required to work every other weekend and will be assigned 1 major holiday
  • Internal employees are not eligible
  • RNs must have a minimum of two years of acute RN experience to be considered

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of a nursing program - diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.
  • Minimum of at least two years of RN experience with a minimum of one-year specialty experience for those floating to specialty areas.
  • RN License to practice as a professional registered nursing in the state of Texas or Active Multi-State RN Compact License. (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date.)
  • BLS Certification required

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
