Harbaugh's is a wildly popular Breakfast & Lunch Cafe in Carbondale, IL. It is located across from the SIU campus, and has been a landmark for students and local clientele for over 20+ years. We serve breakfast and lunch everyday from 7am-2pm. All plates are made to order and may include Huevos Rancheros, Corned Beef Hash, Eggs Benedict, homemade Soups, Salads, or Sandwiches, fresh pressed juice, Mimosas, and coffee of course.
Manager must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends.
Restaurant Manager must have general knowledge of operational procedures and shift positions from FOH to BOH. Has the ability to perform all tasks within the walls of the restaurant.
Basic computer skills, experience using POS system, and is fluent in English spoken and written. Must have 2+ years of previous leadership in restaurant or hospitality. Must maintain professional restaurant image including restaurant cleanliness and appearance standards.
Restaurant manager must have the ability to train and develop a team, with good time management skills, forward thinking and ability to solve problems. Communicate with management/ownership to all parties promptly, and fully inform of all issues (ie. problems, unusual matters of significance , and positive events) and take prompt action where necessary.
Restaurant Manager Attributes: punctual and works well with others in a fast-paced team environment. Demonstrates honesty, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude. Organized and capable of multitasking with attention to detail.
Restaurant Manager Responsibilities: Holds team accountable for notifying customers of daily soup, specials, refills, pre-bussing, running hot food and assists when needed.
Has working knowledge of all recipes, products, production, procedures, and timing.
Ensures recipes and systems are executed in a safe and secure manner. Maintains a healthy environment by following and enforcing safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements and complying with all applicable laws.
Responsible for scheduling, ordering and receiving inventory, placement and storage of products to ensure quality and freshness. Must have transportation to pick up inventory orders.
Has a ServSafe managers certificate and Basset card.
Will be accountable for end of the day fiscal responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Ability to be on your feet for several hours at a time.
Be capable of repetitive motion including bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting 40#.
Must be able to work well under pressure, have the ability to communicate effectively with staff, leading them to work as an efficient team.
