The Operations Manager will support all aspects of our Molding, Assembly and Packaging Focused Factory for our Beaverton, MI team with Saint-Gobain Life Sciences. Will oversee all functions critical to the Molding & Assembly business, including Production, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.

Key Accountabilities:

Promote a safe working environment, comply with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.

Responsible for the safe and cost effective manufacture/assembly of products, which meet or exceed customer quality and delivery requirements.

Maintain good safety and environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.

Oversee 24/7 production environment in accordance with GMP & QSR requirements with a strong focus on safety.

Responsible to lead, set expectations & assess performance of team members.

Understand and execute role as leader of production and role as a leader of the site leadership team. Complete other related projects as assigned.

Lead WCM program for their area and work with other teams to improve plant performance.

Mentor and coach team members.

Essential Functions:

• Time on the Production Floor: Know people, know processes/equipment. Identify opportunities in safety, quality, and productivity. Develop action plans for training and people development for individuals and a multi-skilled workforce.

• Administrative: strong>

  • Lead and coach direct and indirect reports.
  • Oversee ECOs, data review/prep for safety, quality, and productivity;
  • Leadership support to peers and Plant Manager as needed;
  • Budgeting process and managing to the required activity levels;
  • Direct continuous improvement projects in production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
  • Drive Cap Ex Projects.

• Manage areas to reach financial goals.

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, or Operations Management is required.
• 5+ years’ experience in supervision of production employees in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Must have knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and engineering in a manufacturing environment. Experience in an ISO environment and with WCM programs is required.
• Must have ability to manage performance, leadership skills, initiative, strong organizational and decision-making skills, team building and motivating skills, and a high degree of customer orientations is required.
• Proficient in use of computers and spreadsheet software with experience with business systems (QAD, Kronos, Microsoft Office), and other computer hardware and software.
