Responsibilities:
· Evaluate and improve on processes in production systems.
· Maintain reliable and safe process systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, cost and changeovers.
· Develop innovative solutions.
· Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
· Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process.
· Provide suggestions during incident investigations.
· Advise on corrective actions.
· Work with all areas of operation to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
· Ensure that projects are completed on time.
· Ensure that financial budgets are followed.
· Research new process technologies within our production facilities.
· Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts.
· Assume responsibility for risk assessment, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, for the health and safety of both company staff and the wider community.
· Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, and safety of the plant.
· Make observations and take measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved.
· Assume responsibility of ongoing performance of processes and process plant.
· Ensure all aspects of operations and process meet specified regulations.
· Assess the availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact of the plant.
· Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
· Follow company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license. Always ensure HR has a copy of a current, valid license on file.
· All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years’ experience as a process or production engineer in a chemical industry or refining environment. Fertilizer manufacturing experience is a plus.
· Experience in hydrocarbon processing or reforming or synthesis gas production.
· Ability to read and produce technical reports and diagrams of the manufacturing process.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint).
· Strong adherence and knowledge of industry safety standards. Active participation in ongoing development of safety improvement plans and training of staff.
· Proven ability to function within a project team, prioritizing/delegating work, driving productivity, setting the right expectation, and proactively overcoming obstacles in a complex project.
· Ongoing ability to drive a creative problem-solving culture that can promptly adjust to challenging situations.
· Patience and positive attitude maintained when interacting with managers, co-workers, staff, production employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and community organizations.
· Proven track record of implementing improvements and meaningful KPI’s.
· Excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work to meet targets and deadlines.
· Enthusiastic, customer focused professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail always maintained.
· Able to quickly handle a high volume of projects that require safe work habits at all times.
· Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment.
· Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
