  • Work under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists providing a high level of assistance in compounding (sterile and non-sterile preparations), distribution and dispensing of medication and other pharmaceutical related supplies
  • Assists pharmacy managers or designee in designing, coordinating and implementing high quality and cost-effective pharmacy technician services.
  • Adheres to all policies and regulations regarding sterile compounding practice.
  • Maintains necessary record-keeping and training documentation pertinent to areas of responsibility.
  • Inspects assigned area(s) on a monthly basis for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired medications; completes necessary inspection documentation.
  • Promotes sense of team effort together with pharmacists and technicians. Assists in identifying/researching problems and issues related to department budget and patient billing.
  • Attends educational seminars/in-services to maintain or enhance skills and competencies. Adheres to pharmacy policies, procedures, and objectives; maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the clinical area.
  • Other duties as assigned by the pharmacy management team.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent AND
  • Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license
  • One year of Hospital experience preferred
  • Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred
  • Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred
