About Lost Our Home Pet Rescue:

Lost Our Home Pet Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill pet shelter whose mission is to help pets and pet parents in crisis. Many of our programs are linked to the human-animal bond and extend beyond the pets to include the pet parents. Our programs are (1) Rescue & Adoption, (2) 90-day Temporary Care, (3) a Pet Food Bank, and (4) a partnership with a Domestic Violence Pet Companion Shelter.

Located in Tempe, Arizona, our beautiful shelter houses 80 pets (approximately 40 dogs and 40 cats). Our pets are well cared for in a "home-like" environment. You must love animals to work here.

This position reports to the Business Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a maintenance professional to perform routine maintenance and repairs at our shelter. Additionally, this individual will proactively inspect appliances, equipment, and general areas, and maintain them in good working order. These are basic repair tasks that do not require a license, permit or advanced degree to complete. The applicant will have general plumbing, electrical, mechanical and other maintenance person knowledge and make repairs within his or her skill set; the applicant will also be able to recognize when a repair is outside of a skill set and make a recommendation for further action. This position allows you the freedom to make your own schedule, but you must be reliable and work the hours needed to keep the shelter in working order. The hours needed per week will vary between 5-10 depending on how much work is needed. This is a contract position.

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform HVAC, Appliance and plumbing repairs.
• Proactively survey and service equipment and premises so that they remain in good working order
• Complete general building maintenance

Proficiencies:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance or equivalent position
• Minimum 6 years experience in HVAC experience
• Minimum 6 years with major appliance repair
• Knowledge/experience with basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing
• Ability to safely use common power and hand tools
• Valid Arizona driver's license and a safe driving record
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliability, dependability, and the ability to work productively and independently
• A love of animals - You will be working in their home!
• A desire to be a part of a team who deeply cares about people and the pets in our care

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour
