Overview


The Manager of Population Health Analytics serves as an operational manager and a lead developer for a business intelligence team that supports WellStar Clinical Partners (Clinically Integrated Network), Population Health Case Management, Preventative Health (e.g. Colorectal Cancer Screening, Lung Cancer Screening, Incidental Lung Nodule), Diabetes Service Line and System Diabetes value stream, System Inpatient Care Coordination and Utilization Management, Post-Acute Care Network and Community Health/Center for Health Equity. The primary responsibility of the Manager of Population Health Analytics is to produce and guide a team in the production of analytical solutions to align with internal and external customer needs for data and metrics.


Responsibilities


What you will do:

Data Integration, Application Development, Analytics and Visualization
Design and develop creative data visualizations that meet business needs and are readily understandable to end users.
Guide and coach team members in organization, design and development of data visualizations.
Perform data discovery, scrutinizing the accuracy of the data, and stage for optimal consumption and performance in visualizations.
Assist in creation of development standards/processes and ensure team members adhere to standards/processes.
Support team members in project life cycle, assisting team members in managing deliverables.
Guide team members in each phase of the life cycle including setting a reasonable and attainable scope, appropriate data discovery, manipulation and staging, creative data visualizations and analytics, testing/reconciliation, documentation, and rollout/promotion.
Support team with analytics and identify opportunities for improvement. Create standard monthly, quarterly, and daily reports that support day to day workflow and system strategies.
Ensure monthly payor claim feeds are integrated into claims warehousing solution. Lead effort to develop internal (EPIC) data warehousing capabilities for payor claims and ensuring reporting and analytics are available.
Develop capabilities to integrate payor data and EPIC clinical data to enhance population health efforts.

Hire, motivate, monitor, and develop team members to maintain a knowledgeable and highly qualified team.
Develop the staff’s technical, database, SQL, business intelligence and visualization skills, providing training and regular feedback.
Manage team members’ deliverables to high quality and timely completion ensuring adherence to all standards/processes.
Manage and support day-to-day team needs and issues. Manage team workload and assignments as necessary to meet deadlines.

Other Management Duties
Manage other initiatives and projects as assigned.
Exercise initiative and independent judgment with respect to making decisions regarding problem-solving issues.
Provide the strategic leadership, collaborative coordination, creative problem solving around areas of responsibility for the role.
Manage a centralized cross functional team as well as preside as SME for areas of responsibility for the role.
Work effectively with all levels of team members within the organization.
Participate on committees and attends meetings as needed.


Qualifications


Required Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science related field from an accredited four year institution
Preferred Master's Degree

Minimum 5 years of Healthcare and/or data analytics experience including data manipulation, validation and design, analytics, reporting and visualization. Required

Minimum 2 years of experience directly managing others with a track record of increasing responsibilities. Required
