Laboratory Animal Technician I

Basic Summary
We are seeking an Lab Technician for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Poolesville, MD.

In the Lab Technician role you can do that by assisting in cagewash and animal care areas to ensure the health and well-being of all rodent and Non-Human Primate species, as well as the integrity of the research.

Job Responsibilities
In the Lab Animal Technician role, you will use existing SOPs and quality standards to perform job functions such as:

• Sanitizing, maintaining, and repairing caging materials, and keeping cagewash and animal holding facilities clean and organized;
• Operate and perform routine maintenance on cagewash and autoclave equipment;
• Perform general housekeeping.
• In addition, you may be tasked with receipt, stocking, and maintenance of supplies, as well as prepare and submit written records, charts, logs, or inventories.
• Additional duties may include assisting with animal care activities, such as observations, maintenance, consumables check, and/or animal enrichment; as well as maintaining animal housing areas and environments.
• You may also work actively with customers to resolve customer requests, inquiries, complaints, and/or provide technical service.

Basic Qualifications

• This role is ideal for someone trying to get into the Research Laboratory space and for someone who has a passion for science.
• A candidate that possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; some experience and/or training working with mechanical equipment preferred.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – 21.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
