The Robin’s Nest Childcare Center and Preschool House is hiring for an Early Childhood Teaching position.

The Robin’s Nest Childcare Center and Preschool House provides children 6 weeks to 6 years with warm, nurturing care from a staff led by Early Childhood professionals. A great deal of time is spent outdoors, serving to strengthen children’s growing bodies. Days include creative free play inside and out, wholesome organic morning snack, storytelling, nursery rhymes, and singing!

We are seeking candidates who are warm, nurturing, kind, and patient. Must be willing to sit on the ground, sing with children, and play outside in all weather. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, be excited to come to work, and have a love of young children. Experience in Waldorf early childhood education is appreciated, but not required. We are willing to train candidates interested in learning specific philosophies and methods for working with children.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Received or are in the process of completing a degree in Early Childhood education or a related field. Ex: HDFS, psychology, education.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Completion of The Central Background Registry as well as the state mandated onboarding safety sets. (Food Handler’s Certificate, Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid Certificate, Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Foundations for Learning, and Safe Sleep)
  • Know, follow, and be a good example of The Robin’s Nest Childcare Center and Preschool House philosophy, mission, vision, core values, and employee policies and procedures.
  • Know, follow, and be a good example of NAEYC guidelines and current Oregon Early Learning Division - Office of Childcare Rule book.
  • Content to work independently with a group of children, meeting state ratios.
  • Able to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with all parents, children, community members, and staff members.
  • Comfortable and willing to provide constructive criticism to fellow staff members in an encouraging way.

Salary range is competitive and depends on experience.
