We currently have openings in our Westfield Massachusetts facility for 2nd and 3rd shift Finishing Operator C.

This job requires knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures. Applicants must be able to use hand tools and power tools as required. Operators may train or instruct others how to perform this job as well as perform other related duties as assigned.

Other essential functions include but not limited to:

• Regulates temperature, controls atmosphere by regulating gas mixtures, monitors dew point and carbon level, and maintains quench media. Loads and unloads to prescribed cycle: loads into tempering ovens as required; washes parts. Uses Rockwell to test for prescribed hardness.
• With hoist, immerse through a series of cleaning, coating, rinsing, and oil tanks at prescribed cycles to complete parts to prescribed quality standards.
• Maintain tanks by checking meters, performing tank‑side tests of solution (titration) to ensure proper conditions and concentration of chemicals, checking temperatures using calibrated hand held thermometer to verify controller accuracy.
• Regularly clean fixtures and tanks by draining, cleaning, rinsing, and refilling order to maintain safe working conditions and quality operations. Maintain written records to track cleaning of tanks, chemical usage, temperatures of solutions, etc.
• Changes roll stamps and makes roll stamps adjustments as required.
• Visually inspects and gauges at prescribed frequencies, using prescribed methods to maintain quality standards.
• Performs any of several rough and finish hand polishing, buffing and brushing operations using various types of equipment, such as strappers, etc., on a wide variety of component parts, such as small parts, frames, receivers, barrels, ribs, etc.
