Job: Class AA Electrician
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (Saturday @ supervisor’s discretion)
Job Knowledge/Skills:
- Have a good working knowledge of the tasks required to perform on all phases of electrical work in accordance with the latest edition of the American Electricians’ Handbook, Local and National Electrical Codes.
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
- Troubleshoot, assemble, install, test and maintain electrical, equipment components, and circuits.
- Must have knowledge of instrumentation and process controls
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Must be able to install, calibrate & tune variable speed drives
- Must have knowledge of AC and DC power circuits
- Must be able to install conduit, duct, and control power.
- Must be able to read blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Related PLC experience to understand, and troubleshoot ladder logic desired
- Ability to make minor mechanical, piping and electrical repairs
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining maintenance records and files, preparing reports, ordering supplies and equipment.
- Must follow all plant safety procedures, and all applicable regulatory policies .
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain temperature and pressure on plant control systems
- Monitor and maintain mill air pressure
- Monitor and maintain mill water pressure
- Ability to fire the mill boiler and maintain steam pressure
- Know where and how to reset individual motors throughout the mill
- Oil and grease motor bearings as required

Required Work Experience:
3 - 5 years in electrical field
Educational Requirements:
HS Diploma
Pass electrical test given to all bidders
Must be able to participate in and complete a 4-year New York State Approved Apprentice Program
Completion of an electrician program at a technical or trade school preferred
Required Licenses, certifications and/or registries:
Journeyman Electrician Card preferred, but not required.

C Near: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
C Mid: Clarity of vision at distances >20 inches, <20 feet
O Far: Clarity of vision at distances of 20 feet or more
C Depth: Three dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances/spatial relationships.
N Color: Ability to detect various colors in the spectrum and differentiate between them
Environmental conditions:
O Extreme Heat: Exposure to temperatures sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort
O Extreme Cold: Exposure to temperatures sufficiently low to cause marked bodily discomfort
O Wet or Humid: Contact with water, liquids or other humid conditions which causes bodily
discomfort.
O Weather: Exposure to hot, colt, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions which result
in marked bodily discomfort
