Central Care Cancer Center is currently seeking a Director of Medical Oncology.

This position will be responsible for clinical operations for medical oncology services throughout Central Care’s five main locations. Oncology care is multifaceted and a comprehensive understanding of its distinctive care delivery environment is essential. This position requires close collaboration with physicians, Central Care Administration, and hospital administration.

  • Recommends establishment or revision of policies, procedures, and methods for nursing responsibilities and otherwise develops organizational structure and standards of performance for nurses and others
  • Advises and assists executive management and medical staff in planning and developing
  • administrative and operational policies and procedures, facilities use and planning, and strategic planning as it directly relates to medical oncology operations
  • Coordinates implementation and successful use of organization’s EMR system
  • Coordinates, integrates, and evaluates functions and activities of medical oncology program to ensure standards are met throughout the organization’s multiple locations
  • Consults with executive management, department heads, and others to coordinate patient care
  • Analyzes and evaluates overall patient care program
  • Confers with managers and staff concerning problems of patient care
  • Evaluates the education and training needs of personnel and directs development and implementation training for clinical staff
  • Makes periodic rounds of patient care units
  • Oversees orders for all chemotherapy drugs and medical supplies
  • Coordinates physician's on-call and daily schedule
  • Communicates regularly with medical oncologists to ensure their needs are met and all necessary resources are provided to them
  • Develops and promotes cooperative working relationships with other clinics, hospitals, community agencies, and with other departments
  • Oversees organization’s goals to implement and obtain various accreditations such as QOPI as well as continues to monitor clinic locations to ensure all requirements are met for such accreditations and certifications
  • Keeps up to date with all federal and state laws directly related to medical oncology
  • Understands use of chemotherapy drugs, cost, reimbursement, billing etc.
  • Works directly with CEO and executive team to meet company objectives
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by CEO
  • Flexibility to travel as workload requires; regular weekly travel is often necessary
