What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Utilize Demand Planning and the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to develop Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) level consensus demand forecasts for products within the Residential & Landscape Contractor (RLC) portfolio.

  • Contribute to the implementation and successful roll-out of demand planning tool; Utilize and maintain inputs to the Demand Planning and IBP tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Engineering and Supply Planning and utilize historical order and shipment data, current Point of Sale (POS) trends, field inventory data, promotional activity information to develop the best possible demand plans for new and existing products.

  • Lead cross-functional Demand forecast reviews in accordance with the IBP process, including following up on unresolved issues stemming from monthly cycle meetings.

  • Evaluate and implement solutions and ensure alignment with Marketing & Sales in development of the consensus forecast.

  • Communicate changes to cross-functional partners. Quantify and proactively communicate all significant forecasts changes and gaps to all impacted.

  • Review forecast metrics (MAPE, BIAS), understand root cause when variability exceeds the norm, and determine best methods to improve forecast accuracy and eliminate bias.

  • Collaborate with Supply Planning and Manufacturing on corresponding planning scenarios and strategies. Communicate and escalate concerns to management to ensure an appropriate supply chain strategy is developed.

  • Provide Operational Inputs to the Business Planning Process and participate in development of Annual Business Plans.

  • Drive continuous improvements in Demand planning Review (IBP) and consensus forecasting process

  • Support the weekly Integrated Tactical Planning (Sales & Operations Execution) process for the RLC division with cross-functional team including sales, marketing and supply chain

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a demand planning/forecasting role

  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to articulate assumptions, methods, and results to peers and management, and to influence decision making.

  • Experience using demand planning tools

  • Ability to learn quickly, remain flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment.

  • APICS or forecasting Certification preferred.
