Customer Service Supervisor

The Customer Service Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the front desk, Kids Place and porter positions. This position will provide assistance to members along with inquiries about gym operations and policies, as well as perform various administrative duties.

This detail-oriented individual will possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both staff, members and the Corporate Office. Basic understanding of accounting principles, cash processing procedures and computer skills required. Supervisor experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the front desk, Kids Place and the Porter positions

  • Make monthly employee schedules

  • Greet each member & guest promptly, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive entrance into the gym

  • Check each member into the gym using the proper check in procedures

  • Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notify the General Manager in the event of a delinquency

  • Would be responsible for all training, interviewing, hiring and firing of front desk, Kids Place and porter position.

  • Ensure that guests with or without appointments are directed to the appropriate fitness consultant in a prompt, professional manner

  • Answering the phone in a professional, courteous and timely manner & use the proper phone greeting

  • Register all phones calls and transfer to appropriate fitness consultant

  • Make sure All Front Desk Staff, Kids Place and Porter employees Maintain neat appearance (uniform & name tag are required)

  • Process/Oversee all monetary transactions

  • Verify/Edit employees time card and confirm for payroll department

  • Follow proper opening and closing procedures

  • Notify management of gym incidents that require an incident report

  • Make sure ALL Front Desk Staff is trained, including Policies and Procedures

  • Must be willing to take charge and manage people with a great attitude

  • Dependable - work when scheduled and adhere to company policy at all times

  • Perform other duties as directed by management

  • This position requires standing for long periods of time

  • Must be flexible to work any shift


Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • Understanding of basic cash procedures
  • Ability to handle challenging customer/employee issues with patience, tact & professionalism
  • Must be a hard worker and have a strong work ethic
  • Minimum of six months related experience
  • Strong scheduling skills or experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are required
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must be honest and willing to stop guest from working out that do not have a valid membership & direct them to a fitness consultant
  • Must be able to work with daily sales reports and cash sheet.
  • Communicate well with management team and create a positive, team oriented work environment
