This position is responsible for the operation of the CNC machine after set-up. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Operate vertical CNC Machining centers or CNC turning centers.

2. Responsible for making minor adjustments while running.

3. Must be capable of performing the duties of machine operator such as:

• Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with cutter, drill or end mill.

• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, or workpieces.

• Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.
