Summary:

Works as part of the Restored Paths team as a half-time Mental Health and SUD Disorders Clinician and half-time Quality Assurance Specialist. The Addiction Counselor is responsible for providing confidential addiction counseling, education and support to individuals, families and the community and for promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. As a QA Specialist, is responsible for being knowledgeable and accountable to chart documentation requirements and assists the Clinical Supervisor and VP of Addiction Services with support to all Addiction staff to ensure documentation guidelines and expectations are followed. Ensures that all mental health charts are in compliance for scheduled program audits.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, Master’s degree in human service field with postgraduate experiences and working knowledge of administrative procedure of a Federally funded community health center; Must meet Idaho code for Qualified Substance Use Disorder Professional, computer skills necessary to maintain client charts and communication within the organization. Working knowledge of charting compliance expectations and ethical standards for applicable discipline. At least 1 year experience in Quality Assurance required, 2+ years preferred. Must be able to pass an Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Criminal History Unit enhanced background check.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients or patients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the patients' histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
  • Develop client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories.
  • Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or social workers.
  • Interview clients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals' mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program.
  • Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
  • Provide clients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Coordinate activities with courts, probation officers, community services, or other posttreatment agencies.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in off-site meetings and/or seminars.
  • Complete assessments.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Maintains and audits counseling charts.
  • Attends scheduled meetings with Clinical Supervisor and VP of Addiction Services.
  • Maintains compliance with documentation standards set by the state and federal guidelines, and ability to train all disciplines within the program to said guidelines.
  • Remains up to date on program regulations.
  • Performs quality assurance audits and reports findings to Clinical Supervisor and VP of Addiction
  • Services.
  • Serves as a resource to all Addiction staff regarding compliance issues to include CFR-42 Part 2.
  • Completes service notes within 5 days of contact.
  • Knowledge and use of evidence-based best practice therapeutic models.
  • Role modeling, organizational, communication and guest-relation skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
