Accounting Assistant - Cheese Payables
As the Accounting Assistant - Cheese Payables, you'll be responsible for the preparation and timely payments of all vendor invoices for cheese and packaging.
- Code, verify, and process payments of all cheese and packaging invoices. Upload AP check detail to bank.
- Maintain, reconcile, and update pricing and other lot costs according to buyer instruction and approval.
- Collaborate with Accounting Assistant - Non-Cheese Payables, review, and process weekly ACH and check-runs.
- Enter electronic debits and process weekly mock check.
- Set up and maintain vendor master for cheese and packaging vendors.
- Maintain paperless / ECM files related to inventory accounts payable.
- Provide necessary reports to external auditors.
- Match backup and checks for cheese payables from bi-weekly check runs.
- Perform other support functions as requested by the Director of Corporate Finance, Director of Operational Finance, Chief Financial Officer and/ or President & CEO.
- Perform back-up duties related to accounts payable workflows, set up and maintenance for all other vendors, and processing of daily cash receipts.
What You Can Offer
Associate Degree in Accounting or a related area, or equivalent experience is preferred.
One year of accounting or related office experience is preferred.
- Requires a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have good mathematical and analytical skills, problem solving ability and accuracy.
- Good typing ability and proficient use of calculator.
- Knowledge of the ERP computer system and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
