MADRAS, OR :: We drove down through Central Oregon's high desert the day before the eclipse without encountering any of the predicted traffic. Our campsite was on the R+D Ranch just outside of Madras. It was one of the relatively smaller scale options that we shared with a thousand other fellow eclipse chasers. Surprisingly well organized, clean, and peaceful!
