SOUTHWEST VACATION DAY 4 :: ANAHEIM, CA :: The happiest place on earth? Perhaps, but I wish I had taken photos of all of the crying kids and their stressed out parents (actually, someone already did). Don’t get me wrong, I love Disneyland. Kristie and I had a great time. But in order to do it right, you need a plan. We had a hotel right across the street, discounted early entry passes (from Costco), and we made use of a magical piece of software called RideMax.
Thanks to RideMax (and understanding how the FastPass system works), the longest we ever waited in line was ten minutes, and most of the time we just walked right up to the ride, in front of people that had been waiting for an hour or more. It was awesome! We rode the Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Indiana Jones (twice!), the Tiki Room, the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We did Disneyland in two parts: four hours in the morning and two hours at night, catching the great fireworks show as we left.
