Mt. Baker Cabin
GLACIER, WA :: Kristie and I spent the weekend with friends in a cabin near Mt. Baker. The original plan included snowshoeing in the mountains, but that required snow – something that we are sorely lacking this winter. Despite the unusually warm weather and rain, we all had a great time just hanging out, playing games, hiking, watching movies, and relaxing. The cabin was very nice. Thanks to Pat and Cheri for reserving it!
Some highlights from the weekend: sharing a great Italian meal, playing Halo 2 Slayer, watching “Harold & Kumar,” playing Halo 2 Rocketball, hiking along the nearly flooded Nooksack River, playing Halo 2 King-of-the-Hill, blowing out candles on my birthday pie, playing Halo 2 Juggernaut, watching “The Best of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog,” playing Halo 2 Capture the Flag.
Although Becky played Halo for a little while, for the most part, it was just us guys, shooting and shouting at each other. There’s an incredible joy to be had from sniping your friends in the back, and the fun never gets old! Well, I think it got old for those who weren’t playing… After that weekend, Kristie told me she never wants to hear that game again!
