That waiting area reminds me of Kailua-Kona’s airport. Also open air.

  Reminds me most of Long Beach’s airport – small and open air with rentals right outside the door, and my previous favorite airport – but now that you mention it, I recall Maui, Kauai, and Oahu are also open air. Haven’t been to the Big Island yet.
