Grindelwald, Switzerland
GRINDELWALD, SWITZERLAND :: Sometimes our most memorable travel moments are unplanned. When fleeting from one tourist hot spot to another, we fill ourselves with precious moments of joy and awe, but we often miss something deeper. That’s why we attempt to immerse ourselves in our destinations by taking a break from the attractions, and simply try to “be” in the place we’re in. We’re not Rick Steves or Anthony Bourdain, but as much as we can with our limited travel time, we wander unknown paths, shop or eat where the locals do, and delight in the differences – both the good and not so good. When we do this, we receive a better appreciation and lasting impression of their way of life, and the experience of travel is much richer as a result!
It’s so hard to say goodbye to Switzerland, but for the past two years one of our kids has been making plans to live there, so there’s a good chance we’ll be back!
But now we’re off via Deutsche Bahn to our next destination: Germany!

Well stated! Switzerland’s beauty thunderstruck my daughter and me. I hope to return one day too.
Also, Rick and Tony would be very happy for you!
Definitely flitting from one unknown place to another was a way of life for me..ten countries to work, play and learn. C’est beau la vie.
